RIVER RUN
The only communication that you can find between Amlamethi and Basanti now are 2 boats running in tandem with no back up. Unlike the ferries of Hrishikesh, there is no safety measure to save lives in case of a capsize, a common phenomenon in this region due to high tides and turbulent weather. In our research, we found that in many places in India the boats don’t set sail unless everyone wears a life jacket. That’s exactly what we want to implement here. A new boat to reduce commuting time and a mandatory life jacket for all. After all, what is more precious than life?
PARTNERSHIP
A successful sustainable development agenda requires partnerships between governments, the private sector and civil society. These inclusive partnerships built upon principles and values, a shared vision, and shared goals that place people and the planet at the centre, are needed at the global, regional, national and local level.
